Personalized Big Cat Storybook Meet Shere Khan

 

The 800 Pound Tiger -**UPDATED 2011 Version

Here is a children's book about tigers. It is narrated by Shere Khan, the 800 pound tiger.  This tiger book can be personalized, by you, especially for your own child.  It is very easy.  On the first screen of this tiger computer storybook you type in the blanks your child's name, age, city, state, favorite toy and the name of your child's friend or sibling.  When you click the button to go to the next screen every page in this tiger book is automatically personalized with the personalized information you typed in.

This computer storybook is quite educational in more ways than one. Your child will not only learn about tigers, this story will also help your child learn his or her home town and state.  That can be very important if you child is every lost or missing.

Shere Khan the tiger introduces your child to some of the other big cats that live at Big cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida.  Some of those big cats include Sarabi, a rare Barbary Lion, China Doll a tigress, Auroara, who is another female tiger along with other big cats that like Shere Khan were rescued.

Your and your child can not only enjoy this fun and educational storybook on the computer you can actually print the pages out on 8x10 sheets of paper and make your own book.  Children will delight in this craft activity not only because of the quality time spent with you, but because each and every page has at least one full color photo of Shere Khan or the other big cats. Downloading Instructions:

  1. Click on the download link below
  2. Choose to SAVE or SAVE As the file
  3. NOTE: Do NOT click run on this screen.  You MUST choose SAVE or SAVE AS
  4. Remember where your computer is saving the file at

Installation Instructions:

This installation/setup process does NOT do anything weird or funky to your computer.  It simply unzips the storybook, makes a folder on your hard drive, and puts the ONE file it unzipped into that folder.  It will place a shortcut on your start menu so you can open the storybook from there.  That is it.  It makes a folder, puts one file in that folder and gives you a short cut on your start menu to open the storybook with.  It does NOT put any other files on your computer or mess with any settings your your computer.

  1. Download / Save the above file
  2. Remember where you saved the file to
  3. After the download completes just double click the file
  4. Follow on-screen instructions

Personalizing Your Tiger Story Book Instructions:

  1. After you follow the above instructions to install your tiger storybook open it
  2. Click your computer's START Menu the following
  3. START>PROGRAMS>Big Cat Rescue>Shere Khan Storybook
  4. When the storybook is open you see some blanks to type in Name, Age, etc.. click in those blanks with your mouse to select them, then type in the information requested
  5. When the blanks have all been typed in, click the NEXT button at the bottom of the page and Viola... all the pages of the storybook have been personalized with the information you typed in.
  6. Read the story & enjoy the photos.

Printing & Making Your Personalized Tiger Story Book:

  1. Personalize the story book per the instructions above.
  2. As you click through the pages, simply click the "Print" button to print that page
  3. Print on a nice quality bright white paper
  4. Once all the pages are printed (be sure to keep them in order)
  5. Staple them together
  6. OR punch holes to match the ring in a three ring binder or folder
  7. OR print the pages on a bright white card stock and then punch the holes and tie with a sturdy, pretty yarn.
